’04 ALUM / FORMER MLB PITCHER KRIS JOHNSON HAVING SUCCESS IN JAPAN

Former BSHS All-State Pitcher Kris Johnson has been having a lot of success in Japan after a long MLB-career.  For the 2018 season, Johnson went 11-5 with a 3.11 ERA as a Starting Pitcher for the Hiroshima Carp.  So far throughout this postseason, Johnson is 4-1 with a 1.1 ERA in over 40 innings. CALEB MARQUEZ SELECTED IN MLB DRAFT BY MILWAUKEE

  BSHS Starting Catcher Caleb Marquez was selected in the 39th round (1175 overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers in the MLB Draft.  Marquez led the Wildcats to their first 20-win season in 10 years, earning All-District and All-Conference recognition by hitting .379 with 6 HR, 22 RBI, and a 1.136 OPS.  Marquez will likely be named

LUFFT WINS CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AS 7 EARN ALL-CONFERENCE

Congratulations to the 7 student-athletes who earned All-Conference after the 2018 HS Baseball Season.  The Baseball Team went 21-11 to give the program their first 20-win season since 2008. BASEBALL WRAPS UP SEASON AT DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP

Last week, the Baseball Team concluded their season in the District Championship against Blue Springs South.  The Wildcats fell just short to the Jaguars, 8-6.  Ryan Urfer pitched 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing only 1 run while Jake Lufft and Caleb Marquez paced the offense with home runs.  The Wildcats finished 21-11, their first 20+

PEYTON SMITH WINS APRIL ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

Star pitcher Peyton Smith was voted BSWildcats.com April Athlete of the Month.  Smith was the Baseball Team’s ace all season, leading the squad to an appearance in the district championship game.  Smith recently committed to continue his baseball career at Rockhurst University. LUFFT LEADS BASEBALL TO DISTRICT SEMIFINAL VICTORY OVER LSN

MARQUEZ HITS WALKOFF GRANDSLAM IN 8-6 VICTORY OVER LSN (VIDEO)
