GIRLS BASKETBALL UPSETS ROCK BRIDGE TO WIN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP

The Girls Basketball Team defeated Columbia Rock Bridge 52-34.  Blue Springs came into this game as an underdog with Rock Bridge having won 4 of the last 6 Class 5 State Championships.  The Cats were led by a well-balanced scoring attack of Jayla Sample (17 points), Reggie Kangawa (14 points), and Alliyah Bello (14 points).

GIRLS BASKETBALL HOSTS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (5:30PM, TONIGHT)

The Girls Varsity Basketball Team hosts the #1 team in the state, Columbia Rock Bridge, tonight for the district championship.  The game is expected to begin at 5:30pm. KANAGAWA SCORES 19 TO LEAD GIRLS BASKETBALL PAST BS SOUTH IN PLAYOFFS

Senior Reggie Kanagawa scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Wildcats past crosstown rival Blue Springs South, 49-28.  The Wildcats jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the 1st quarter and never looked back. BASKETBALL TEAMS BEGIN PLAYOFFS TONIGHT (TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27TH)

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams begin postseason action this evening as both squads host Blue Springs South in round 1 of districts. TICKETS ARE $5.  NO PASSES ACCEPTED The Girls Basketball Team begins at 5:30pm.  The Boys Basketball Team begins at 8:30pm.  Both games are located in the BSHS Main Gymnasium.    

ALIYAH BELLO FEATURED IN MADCELL.INC MIXTAPE

BSHS Girls Basketball star Aliyah Bello was featured in a video by the Twitter Account @MadCellInc, earlier this week.  The video contains Aliyah putting her basketball skills on display at different points throughout the ’17-’18 season.  Aliyah is just a sophomore so expect big things from her and the Girls Basketball Team the next couple of seasons.

GIRLS BASKETBALL SPLITS GAMES WITH BLUE VALLEY SW

BELLO SCORES 15 AGAINST LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team had another conference matchup on Monday night.  The Wildcats fell to the Lee’s Summit North Broncos 57-40.  The game gives the Wildcats a 9-12 overall record with a 6-5 conference mark. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated Park Hill High School 53-51, thanks to last-second free throws by Senior superstar Reggie Kanagawa.  Kanagawa led the Wildcats with 16 points while Sy’Miah Smith scored 12 and Aliyah Bello added 10. GIRLS BASKETBALL TAKES TITANS TO OVERTIME

The BSHS Girls Basketball Team fell just short to conference opponent, Lee’s Summit West in a tightly contested overtime game.  The Titans prevailed 47-40.
